The Hotel Casey

The Hotel Casey designed by Charles E. Weatherhogg c. 1909 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The hotel was demolished in 2001 and replaced with a parking garage. Click HERE for more on the Hotel Casey.

Notice that the hotel was built seven years after the steel mill moved to Lackawana, NY.

(The previous fifteen years had been an ongoing nightmare of labor troubles, with Carnegie doing all he could to make things worse. One of the company's presidents shot himself in despair. So the Scrantons picked up their mills and left.)
