The Female Guardian Society Building

The Home for the Friendless and Female Guardian Society Building designed by William B.     Oh, golly, the names that these old charitable societies had--'The Society for the Penance of Wayward Abusers of Gumballs Machines', etc.

    They built nice stately buildings though

    I think the name was kinda sad honestly especially considering what companionship meant to the Gilded Age Americans. Nonetheless, I appreciate that this Beaus Arts building is in Brooklyn, it has a modest scale to it and its colors for the roof and dormers. I'm glad for the extant fence and its posts but they don't ascend correctly in terms of the hill its on.
