'Mortemar'
'Mortemar', the Richard Mortimer estate designed by Hunt & Hunt between 1890-1900 in Tuxedo Park, New York. Click HERE for more on 'Mortemar' which has since been demolished.
I think the half timbering works extremely well in this relatively low mountainous location. The forecourt design is uber bavarian and very appealing but the rear facade lost its way, great floor plan though
I've said it before, I'll say it again---they were not the designers their father was.
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is very 'Dracula's Castle', isn't it?
The front of the house is out of a Grimms fairytale just spectacular
