'Shady Side'

 'Shady Side', the Wallace Hurtte Rowe residence designed by Rutan & Russell c. 1900 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Rowe was president of the Pittsburgh Steel Company.  The house is believed to have been demolished.

Frank Rutan of Rutan & Russell summered for many years not two miles from where I sit. He was also the brother of the Rutan of Shepley Rutan, successor firm to H.H. Richardson

Yes, it was demolished-too expensive to maintain. No outside interest in subsidizing!
