To think, they practically controlled the world from that simple, staid building.
Looking at the photo of Morgan in-law William Pierson Hamilton's private office there reminds me that I am desperately seeking leads to photographs of Hamilton's Bar Harbor estate, 'Thirlstane House' as it appeared during his occupancy, 1926-1947. The search goes on.
Oh, and what a shame the banking hall has been destroyed.
The good old days, when bankers were about more than just making enough money to build themselves extra houses.

This also the site of New York's first major terrorist attack. The Wall Street bombing occurred at 12:01 pm on Thursday, September 16, 1920, in the Financial District of New York City. The blast killed 38 and seriously injured 143.The bomb caused more than $2 million in property damage ($23 million inflation adjusted) and destroyed most of the interior spaces of the Morgan building.
