The Hotel Statler

 The Hotel Statler designed by George B. Post & Sons c. 1915 at 1539 Washington Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan.  The hotel was purchased by Hilton in 1954 and operated as the Detroit Hilton Hotel until it was closed and abandoned in 1975.  The building was demolished in 2005.  Click HERE for more on the Hotel Statler and HERE to see a photo of the building before it was demolished.

Michigan Central Station

Michigan Central Station designed by Reed & Stem and Warren & Wetmore c. 1912 in Detroit, Michigan. The station slowly fell out of use following WWII until it was purchased by Amtrak in 1971 which undertook restoration work on the waiting area in 1978. In 1988 the facility was closed completely and has sat vacant and decaying since. Click HERE for more and HERE to see the station on google street view.
