 'Fairmore', the Mark Skinner Willing residence designed by Frost & Granger c. 1900 in Lake Forest, Illinois and pictured here under the ownership of Mrs. Charles I. Dangler.  I am unsure if the house is extant.

'Villa Turicum'

 'Villa Turicum', the Harold Fowler McCormick estate designed by Charles A. Platt between 1908-1918 in Lake Forest, Illinois.  McCormick, son of Cyrus H. McCormick of Lake Forest, was chairman of the board of International Harvester Company.  He was married to Edith Rockefeller from 1895-1921 (they divorced).  Click HERE for more on 'Villa Turicum' and HERE to see the house in ruin.  The residence was demolished in the early 1960s.

'House-in-the-Woods'

'House-in-the-Woods', the Mrs. Cyrus H. McCormick (Nancy Fowler McCormick) residence designed by Dwight H. Perkins of Perkins, Fellows & Hamilton c. 1916 in Lake Forest, Illinois.  McCormick was the widow of Cyrus Hall McCormick, inventor and founder of the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company.  She died in 1923 and the house was inherited by her daughter Anita McCormick Blaine, widow of Emmons Blaine.  Click HERE for the wikipedia page on the McCormick family.  Click HERE to see 'House-in-the-Woods' on bing.

The Harold L. Ickes Residence

 The Harold L. The Henry B. Babson Residence

The Henry B. Babson residence designed by Louis H. Sullivan c. 1907 in Riverside, Illinois. Babson sold Edison phonographic machines nationwide. Click HERE for more on the Babson residence including some old autochromes. The home has since been demolished.
